At only twenty-two, young New Zealander Will Martin has already packed in a lifetime of paying dues. At the age of 17 Will made the decision to follow his musical dream, which went from strength to strength: singing in restaurants to performing on cruise ships, singing in cover bands across the globe and then going on to sing the New Zealand National Anthem to a sold out All Blacks crowd before securing a solo record deal with Universal
Will released his stunning debut Album, ‘A New World’, in New Zealand in November 2007 which reached Platinum sales by January 2008. It is an epic collection of classical crossover songs which simultaneously reflect Will’s origins and the scope of his unfaltering ambition.
A New World is due for UK release with Universal Classics and Jazz in September 2008.
Recent performances included a Christmas cathedral tour with Natasha Marsh and guest artist with the Starlight Symphony in Auckland alongside Kiri Te Kanawa.
Will looks forward to many exciting performances and collaborations in 2008 including guest performances with All Angels, Lesley Garrett at Henley Festival and RTE Concert Orchestra, and is special guest on the Fron Male Voice Choir’s UK tour.
Will is driven by the emotion that classical music evokes in people, and the passion it inspires. This dedicated performer with a contagious enthusiasm for his craft intends to continue telling the beautifully emotive stories of the world’s greatest songwriters, whilst pushing the boundaries of the Classical Crossover genre.
